Jackson Hole Art and Photo Galleries

Swan Valley Sunset

Within the past couple of decades, Jackson Hole Wyoming has taken a place beside Scottsdale, Santa Fe, San Francisco and New York as a major art center, having become known as the "Art Center of the Rockies".

The local galleries proudly present a broad range of work from "old masters" such as Charles Russell and Frederick Remington to internationally and nationally know contemporary artists, some of whom live in the region.

Jackson Hole offers a selection of art rarely duplicated, fine western, wildlife abstract, and southwestern art, photography, sculpture, pottery, handcrafted furniture, weavings and exquisite Indian art collections, including rugs and handmade jewelry. Specializing in exceptional quality, fine art that echoes the unique beauty, history and rich culture of the American West and Rocky Mountain region our artists call home.

Many of the world’s best nature photographers make the Jackson Hole region their home as well and several have galleries to showcase their work as well. The Greater Yellowstone region is a place where many National Geographic photographers like to go home too.

The National Museum of Wildlife Art in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, a must see, is a very unique place to visit, even if you've toured many American Art museums in other places in the past. The Museum has a very impressive collection of approximately 4,000 works of art, and it is located on the edge of the 20,000-acre National Elk Refuge.

Jackson Hole artists are dedicated to supporting the artistic and cultural heritage of the greater Jackson Hole area by striving to improve the business conditions for the Jackson Hole area galleries and art dealers, by providing a forum of communication between galleries and art dealers, and by supporting causes directly related to the arts.

Antler Workshop & Gallery • (Dubois Wyoming) Kurt Gordon is 4th generation of an original Vail Valley family. He grew up in a log house that his Grandfather, a logger, built on property in what now is called West Vail. Vail was just wilderness then, a lot of meadows with large herds of roaming deer and elk. Most of the antler Kurt works with are sheds. His favorite past time has not changed in 40 years. He still loves hiking through the woods, sage and mountain tops finding the antler himself although he also enjoys buying from ranchers and locals to keep up with the quantity required for his designs. In 2006, while attending the antler rendezvous in Dubois, Wyoming he found the business location he had been looking for and relocated his business to a log home on the Old Yellowstone Highway in the west end of Dubois.

Merle Yeoder Handmade Furniture
Merle Yoder Handcrafted Furniture • In thirty years of woodworking I have come to appreciate and understand what it takes to make a quality piece of furniture that will last for generations. In this age of throw away mass produced furniture, it is important to me to craft furniture that will stand the test of time. My passion lies in the designs of Arts and Crafts or “Mission” furniture because it stresses function and unadorned beauty, strong simple construction and honest comfortable design.
